This policy explains what information Ghost Route (“we,” “us”) collects, why, and your choices. Ghost Route is a game in development, operated by James Robinson, based in Texas, USA.
Short version: we collect almost nothing. Privacy-friendly analytics with no cookies, and your email only if you choose to join the waitlist. No ads, no trackers, nothing sold.
01Information we collect
- Usage analytics. We use Matomo, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host ourselves. It records things like pages visited, browser type, and approximate location derived from a partially-masked (anonymized) IP address. It runs in cookieless mode.
- Waitlist email (only if you give it). If you enter your email address in the waitlist form, we store it for one purpose: to send you a single notice when the first beta opens. That's it.
We do not create user accounts on this page, and we do not tie analytics to any personal identifier.
02How we use it
- To understand which parts of the page people visit, so we can improve it.
- To diagnose bugs and performance issues.
- To send you one email when the beta opens — only if you joined the waitlist.
03What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share analytics data with advertisers — our analytics are self-hosted.
- We do not use third-party trackers or advertising networks.
- We anonymize IP addresses and we do not track you across other websites.
04Cookies
We run analytics in a cookieless mode and do not set tracking cookies. Because of this, no cookie-consent banner is needed for analytics on this site.
05Your choices and rights
- You can request a copy of, or deletion of, any personal information associated with you (for the waitlist, that's just your email) by emailing robinsonjamesp78@gmail.com.
- Our analytics honor your browser's “Do Not Track” setting.
- Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA, or the EU/UK under the GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out. Contact us to exercise them.
06Data retention
- Raw analytics logs are kept for up to 14 months.
- A waitlist email is kept until the beta launches and the notice is sent, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first.
07Children
Ghost Route is a game, and it may be used by minors. We collect as little as possible and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only personal information this page can collect is a waitlist email, which is optional and never required to view the site.
If you believe a child under 13 has given us their information, email robinsonjamesp78@gmail.com and we will delete it.
This page describes the Ghost Route website as it exists today (a coming-soon page with an optional waitlist). When the game itself launches, this policy will be updated to cover anything new it collects.
